Through improved and restored retail storefronts, renovated residential spaces, and curated programming, Pratt St is being rediscovered.
It’s officially spring in Connecticut which means it’s time to kick off the 2022 Pratt Street event season! After a successful year of events, we’re excited to bring back a few fan favorites (like Puppy Hour and the Silent Disco) as well as new events for the year. If you haven’t had the chance to visit, now’s the time! There’s something for everyone—from viewing parties to pop-up markets to live performances, and more.
Here’s a sneak peek of the events hitting Pratt Street this spring:
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of Hartford’s most celebrated events. Every year, friends and families gather to celebrate, walk the streets, watch live music, and more. Due to COVID-19, the parade was canceled the last two years, but we are so excited to announce that the parade is back! Join us on March 12 for an after-party on Pratt. Vaughan’s will be open at 8:00 am serving kegs and eggs and have set up an outdoor bar to pour you a pint as well. Sunberry, Sorella, and El Poeta will also be serving food and drink specials!. There will be live music all day—both inside the pub and outside on Pratt Street
If there’s one thing we love here in Hartford, it’s college basketball. We’re hoping the UConn Huskies make it to the tournament so we can cheer them on. If they’re playing, stop by Pratt Street to pregame before you head to the stadium. Or, join us as we’ll project the game on a big screen and have drink and food specials from our Pratt Street eateries. Join us on March 26th to watch the Huskies play if they advance to the Elite Eight. If the Huskies win, we’ll continue the watch party and stream the Final Four on April 2!
The Hartford Yard Goats open their season on Friday, April 8th. Join us before the game to kick off the season as Pratt Street turns into the best place to pregame. Chompers and Chew Chew will make a special appearance, along with some real goats! Pratt Street will be transformed as restaurants set up outdoor bars, seating areas, and grilling stations. There will be live music from a local DJ, giveaways, and games for the whole family. We will also march from Pratt to the game in time for the first pitch! If you haven’t already purchased tickets to the game, head over to the Yard Goats website to snag a pair.
Spring break is right around the corner! Instead of catching flights, catch a ride and visit Pratt Street as we transform it into a tropical oasis. Our all-day beach-themed block party will be held on April 16th. During the day, families are welcome to stop by and enjoy live music, interactive performances, and painting classes hosted by Painting with a Twist. The street will also be lined with chalk, hula hoops, jump rope, bubbles, and other family-friendly activities.
At night, we kick off a college party for our spring break students. Enjoy live music from a local DJ and drink specials from our Pratt Street bars and eateries (must show student ID to get drink specials).
Get dolled up and grab a fancy hat, we’re off to the races! Join us on Pratt Street on May 7th as we live stream the Kentucky Derby. The best-dressed attendee will win a special prize! As for everyone else, there will be themed julep and whiskey samples, giveaways, and goodies. Pratt Street will be lined with garden furniture and photo ops for you and your friends. As you stroll, enjoy a mint julep or whiskey smash from our local restaurants and bars. Stackpole Moore Tryon will also be hosting a Derby-themed fashion show!
Think you’ve got what it takes to win? Grab 3 friends and enter the first Pratt Street Patio Olympics on May 14th! Teams of four will sign up to compete in a tournament, rotating through three Olympic backyard games, including cornhole, can jam, and flip cup. There will be food and drink specials as well as outdoor grilling and bars. The winning team will receive the Pratt Street prize: the inaugural Pratt Street Tailgating Olympics trophy, along with a curated Pratt Street basket with goodies/gift cards from Pratt Street businesses.
You read that right, Puppy Hour is back! Beginning the first Wednesday of May, you and your four-legged friends are welcome to visit Pratt Street for a special happy hour from 5:00 pm–7:00 pm. Our restaurants and bars will have food and drink specials and plenty of outdoor seating available. This is a great opportunity to not only meet new people but also have your dog socialize and meet new furry friends.
