Celebrating Small Business Saturday on Pratt Street

It’s that time of year again—Small Business Saturday is returning to Pratt Street on Saturday, November 27th from 10:00am–6:00pm! We’ve just put up all of our holiday decorations, and we’re ready to welcome you to a street bursting at the seams with pop-up shops, specials from Pratt Street retailers and restaurants, and a full day of family fun.

Pratt Street makes it easy to shop for everyone on your holiday list, and many of the street’s retailers are offering specials for Small Business Saturday:

• Hartford Prints! is hosting their Small State BIG Saturday event, where guests who wear HP! apparel will get 10% off their purchase. Shoppers can also receive a free art print, free holiday card set, or free enamel ornament with qualifying purchases.
• Morneault’s Stackpole Moore Tryon has pulled out all of the stops this year, with six pop-up vendors in their store, along with the rest of their timeless apparel! Pop-up vendors are selling items such as jewelry, leather goods, custom wine racks, and specialty cards. Shoppers can also expect a book signing, teacup raffle, and hot chocolate and snacks!
• The Tobacco Shop is prepped and ready with everything the cigar aficionado in your life could wish for. Rumor has it that owner Gerry Grate is filling his shelves with brand new inventory, especially for the occasion…you don’t want to miss it!
• Painting with a Twist is offering three different classes during the day. You can check them out and support your local painting studio here!
• Don’t forget to swing by Vaughan’s Pub, Sunberry, El Poeta de los Sandwiches, and Sorella to grab gift cards for your foodie friend!

Shopping with the whole family? Pratt Street’s got you covered. While perusing all the offerings, the street will be bustling with a full itinerary of family-friendly events and activities to keep your little ones busy:

• 10:00 am–6:00 pm: Shop Two Coffee Trailer will keep you warm and cozy!
• 11:00 am–3:00 pm: Brass City Alliance’s Pet Adoption Bus (you must pre-register here to adopt a dog)
• 11:00 am–3:00 pm: Charlie’s Traveling Treat Truck
• 12:00 pm–2:00 pm: Strolling Santa—take your family photos with Santa on Pratt Street!
• 12:00pm–1:30pm: Live Ice Sculpting Demonstration
• 12:00 pm–2:00 pm: Free Gift Wrapping by the Bushnell Young Professionals (located in 88 Pratt Street)
• 1:00 pm–2:00 pm: Performance by the Ensign-Darling New Voices
• 2:00 pm–3:00 pm: Performance by The Sweetest Key A Capella Group

On top of all of these activities, this weekend kicks off the holiday season for all of Downtown Hartford! After getting your holiday shopping done, take the kids to Winterfest Hartford in Bushnell Park for free ice skating and hot chocolate (open from 11:00 am–8:00 pm), followed by a ride on the Bushnell Park Carousel (open from 11:00 am–5:00 pm)!

Winterfair: Hartford’s Holiday Market will also be taking place during Small Business Saturday. Winterfair is an all-ages market that begins on Black Friday and leads into First Night Hartford. This 23-day market will be a place for local makers, creatives, and craftsmen to share their talents with the local community, all to shop small and local this holiday season.
