Event Spotlight: Home Run Derby X Pre-Show Party

Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby X is coming to Hartford, taking place at Dunkin’ Park on Friday, August 11th. This is the first time this event has taken place in the US. You might be wondering: “what is Home Run Derby X?” The MLB describes the event as “baseball, but not as you know it.” Co-ed teams of four go head-to-head to hit home runs and make incredible catches within a three-inning game. The format is primed for quick, intense, non-stop action!

Each co-ed team has three hitters and one pitcher. Each hitter will have one at-bat of two minutes and 30 seconds, while the opposing team will be in the outfield. One home run equals one point for the offense, and a catch by an outfielder scores one point for the defense. There are extra points available to be earned through hitting streaks, target strikes, and in-game boosters. A Tag in/Tag out option is available for each at-bat. The team with the most points at the end of three innings wins the game!

The first 200 people on Pratt will receive a free Pratt hat!

Before you head over to the Park to see stars like Nick Swisher (American League All-Star and New York Yankees World Series Champion) and Jonny Gomes (Boston Red Sox World Series Champion) we invite you to pregame on Pratt Street! The Pre-Show Party starts at 4:00pm and will continue until 7:00pm If you are one of the first 200 attendees, you’ll receive a free embroidered Pratt Street baseball cap! Pratt Street restaurants will be offering food and drink specials, and DJ 10Four will be performing. Let’s get this party started!
