A Restored Pratt Street
Through improved and restored retail storefronts, renovated residential spaces, and curated programming, Pratt St is being rediscovered.
As the holiday season passes and we enter a New Year, Downtown Hartford’s activities move from the outdoors to the indoors. That being said, Pratt Street is still the place to be, especially prior to any event taking place at the XL Center!
This January, the XL Center is back with a full season of programming, featuring the Hartford Wolf Pack, UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball, UConn Men’s Hockey, and a few specialty shows and concerts you won’t want to miss. Call us biased, but we think the best part of attending anything at the XL Center is spending time pregaming on Pratt Street before and after the event.
Hartford Wolf Pack
The Pack is back at home for seven games throughout the month of January. While some people are decked out in red, white, and blue to represent our home team, you’ll be certain to spot a large amount of blue and green Whalers hats and jerseys among the crowd. If your Whalers pride collection is missing items, be sure to stop in to Hartford Prints! before the game—they have at least four different style Whalers hats, along with shirts and other apparel that you can check out here.
January Schedule (get tickets here):
UConn Basketball and Ice Hockey
There’s no better place to party pre- and post-UConn games than at Vaughan’s Public House. Pints are discounted on game days and the pub promises to never run dry. The atmosphere is always warm and filled to the brim with UConn fans. You’ll be sure to hear at least one “U-C-O-N-N, UCONN, UCONN, UCONN!” chant before the game, and are promised to hear a few more afterwards if the team walks away with a win. Plus, they have the “TWO CONN Easy Ale” from Two Roads Brewing on draft. What more could you want?
January Schedule:
Specialty Events and Shows
The XL Center will be playing host to two conventions and one specialty performance this January. Families attending Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party will want to take their little ones over to Sorella for some mouth-watering pizzas before the game, which are sure to please the entire family. Papermania features collectibles from around the country, such as movie star posters, concert posters, photography, and rare books. Attendees can enjoy a bibimbap bowl from Sunberry or a cigar at The Tobacco Shop to continue on their cultural journey. Finally, the Hartford Home Show showcases home improvement professionals in a more relaxed, interactive environment.
January Schedule:
There’s so much happening this January at the XL Center, and there’s no better place to spend time pre- and post-event than Pratt Street. We look forward to hosting you this winter!
