The holiday season is our favorite time of year in Connecticut. It’s a time when we reflect on our adventures and endeavors, create new memories and traditions, and experience the holiday cheer of Downtown Hartford. We’re excited to introduce a new experience coming to Pratt Street—one we hope will be a tradition for years to come. Welcome to the Pratt Street Winter Village, Hartford’s first-ever outdoor holiday market.
This holiday season, Pratt Street is being transformed into an open-air marketplace. The Pratt Street Winter Village will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am–3:00pm beginning November 26th and running will run until December 18th. Every weekend, you can shop from local artisans that will be popping up at the Winter Village, enjoy live musical performances and demonstrations, eat and drink at the street’s restaurants and bars, and shop from our many retail businesses.
The first Saturday of Pratt Street Winter Village also happens to be Small Business Saturday. Coincidence? We don’t think so! This is the perfect opportunity to shop small and support local businesses and artisans that will be popping up on Pratt Street. Stop by on November 26th to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts like handcrafted dog treats, polymer clay earrings and jewelry, natural soy candles, and much more. Our Pratt Street retailers will also have carry unique holiday goods and Small Business Saturday sales going on all day long. Everyone is welcome at the Pratt Street Winter Village, even your dog! Families and friends are welcome to experience our live entertainment including local Hartford performers as well as demonstrations and activities from artists. On Saturday, November 26th, there will be face painting and arts and crafts for children, a live holiday mural painting, and a special guest appearance from Santa himself! Shop, stroll, and get into the holiday spirit during Pratt Street Winter Village. Bloom Bake Shop will have hot cocoa available, our retailers like Hartford Prints! and Gentle Bull Shop will have holiday gifts and goods, and there will be plenty to purchase from the 10+ pop-up vendors each weekend. If you’re like us, you work up an appetite while shopping. Good thing we have plenty of restaurants to choose from. Grab a bite from Sorella, Vaughan’s Irish Pub, Sunberry Restaurant & Bar, or El Poeta de Los Sandwiches.
The Pratt Street Winter Village will also have a beer garden! Yup, you read that right. Urban Lodge Brewing Company will be popping up every weekend to pour some of their famous brews like Open Trail, a New England-style pale ale, and Pop’s Stout, a rich and robust milk stout. Although Urban Lodge Brewing Company is coming to Pratt Street in 2023, this is the perfect opportunity to give them a try and discover your new favorite brew.
The fun continues in Downtown Hartford. Just a short walk from Pratt Street is Winterfest Hartford at Bushnell Park. From November 25th to January 8th, Winterfest Hartford is open for free ice skating, free skate rentals, learn-to-skate classes, and more at Bushnell Park. On Saturday, December 10th, Santa’s Workshop is coming to Bushnell Park. Families are welcome to write letters to Santa and get a free 5×7 photo with Santa Claus.
