A Restored Pratt Street
Through improved and restored retail storefronts, renovated residential spaces, and curated programming, Pratt St is being rediscovered.
We can’t believe another year has gone by so fast! 2023 was such an exciting time on Pratt Street—a new business opened, a restaurant favorite renovated, we watched another expand into a larger storefront, and many more are slated to open in early 2024. We also welcomed new residents into 99 Pratt Street and had a robust event season that further defined Pratt as the entertainment destination in Downtown Hartford!
We were thrilled to welcome Urban Lodge Brewing to Pratt Street this year! The brewery opened on October 12, right in time for the Hartford Marathon. With two floors, three bars, and a takeout window, we’re excited to see what else they have in store in 2024!
It’s safe to say that Sunberry Restaurant & Bar went through one of the most significant and beautiful transformations this year. They reopened their doors in May after extensive renovations to the restaurant and the menu. The restaurant is now lined with natural wood and has bi-fold windows, opening their space up to the rest of Pratt Street! Their new menu features a hot pot and Hinoki steam box, and on any given night, you can expect to do trivia, dance to a DJ, or enjoy some acoustic sounds by local singer-songwriters.
Gentle Bull Shop opened in 2022 but celebrated one full year on Pratt Street this past October! Their first year was so successful that they expanded into a new storefront directly across the street from their first location. To top it off, they’ve hosted several pop-up vendor markets and the City’s first Día de los Muertos celebration. Cheers to Gabi, Sarah, and the rest of the Gentle Bull team!
Keep an eye out—Hartford Flavor Cocktail Parlor, Lyon’s Den, El Gallo y El Coquí, and Refuge Tattoos will open in early 2024!
This year’s event season on Pratt Street was even bigger and better than last year, and we can’t wait to see it grow.
While it’s safe to say Puppy Hour takes place almost every day on Pratt Street, we love celebrating your furry friends with you every other Wednesday! Seeing everyone’s pups’ Halloween costumes was an extra special treat.
Our other event series, Pratturday Night Live, took place over the span of six months. Each month featured a different theme—we celebrated Earth Day, soul music, Juneteenth, classic rock, country, and Hispanic Heritage Month.
Once again, Pratt Street was packed for the St. Patrick’s Day parade and the Yard Goats season opener. The LED screen returned to the street for the Women’s World Cup. Pratt Street was home to the Hartford Pride After Party (as rainy as it was), and for the third year, we hosted a Pink Eggs and Glam drag brunch with Sky Casper Entertainment. Salsa Social and the Bizarre Bazaar returned, and Pratt was transformed into an outdoor holiday market during the second annual Pratt Street Winter Village.
Thank you for another incredible year on Pratt Street! We can’t wait to dance, eat, shop, and celebrate with you in the New Year!
