A Restored Pratt Street
Through improved and restored retail storefronts, renovated residential spaces, and curated programming, Pratt St is being rediscovered.
HARTFORD — Pratt Street in downtown Hartford will be the site of numerous events throughout the summer that include on-street dining, food and drink specials, live entertainment and activities for dogs.
Events are co-sponsored by Lumi Hospitality; Shelbourne Global Solutions, the city’s largest commercial real estate owner; Hartford Business Improvement District; Hartford Chamber of Commerce; and Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.
Participating restaurants are Sorella, Sunberry, Vaughan’s Irish Pub and El Poeta de los Sandwiches.
Puppy Hours on Pratt Street began on May 19. The human-dog social hours also will be held on June 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. Restaurants will offer specials for both humans and dogs.
A Summer Kickoff Party will be June 12 from noon to 5 p.m. Activities on that day include a COVID-19 vaccination clinic hosted by Community Health Center, a fashion show of clothes from Stackpole Moore Tryon, live music by Canyon from noon to 1 p.m., DJ Sonia Sol from 1 to 5 p.m. and food and drink specials. Those who sign up for the Pratt Street email list at prattst.com will get a token for a free beer, glass of wine or Irish cream at Vaughan’s.
Dinner and a Show will come to the street on Wednesdays starting June 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets bought in advance will include dinner specials and a live performance by Ray Gonzalez and his Latin Jazz Band. Future dates and performers are TBD. Tickets, whose prices also are TBD, will include both the food and the show.
Sundays on Pratt Street, which have already started, include brunch offerings, games and free fitness classes every Sunday, except Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends, from 11 a.m. to noon. The fitness events feature classes by barre3, Body by Bon and The Yoga Shop.
Also, Pratt Street Patio, the series of live music events sponsored by the Hartford Business Improvement District, will begin June 3. Here is the lineup:
